Why this project is important?
The grant will contribute directly to building a roadmap for
producing on-farm biofertilizers at scale, which will not only serve Klippingegård in
growing healthy and nutritious food but also help other farmers become
more self-sufficient in producing their own fertility. 

We believe that the key to healthy, regenerative food starts with the soil.
By empowering Klippingegård in their journey towards producing more of their own biofertilizers and compost, we are accelerating the transition to regenerative farming by working on concrete methods of scaling fertility.

Meet William and Scott

Located on the coast of Stevns, Klippingegård is a fourth-generation farm owned by William Perch-Nielsen and run by him and Scott Chancellor, a former chef. Driven by curiosity and care, they are reimagining the farm's direction, blending tradition with regenerative innovation.

The team cultivates both familiar and forgotten crops, adapting to their unique coastal climate.
For more than 15 years Klippingegård has shifted towards regenerative and organic farming practices by emphasising soil health and biodiversity.

About the project:
The Foodprint Nordic grant will contribute directly to building a roadmap for producing on-farm biofertilizers at scale, which will both strengthen Klippingegård’s self-sufficiency, yield and crop quality, but also serve to help other farmers become more self-sufficient in producing their own fertility by showcasing proven methods that scales well.

As Scott puts it: “We want to be able to show these findings to other farmers in our community and be a leader in this area to help other farmers adopt these more regenerative practices, because seeing really is believing, and this is the key.”

Using the grant William and Scott will purchase a tractor-mounted compost turner (or windrow turner) that will dramatically increase efficiency and quality of their composting operations.

With additional soil-measuring hardware they aim to back up their findings with hard data, that will assist in showcasing just how impactful a focus on producing regenerative fertility can be.
