Søagergaard

Why this project is important?
New ways of growing and producing food are needed, and with the funded project at Søagergaard, it is time to gain new knowledge on how we can produce more local milk with regenerative practices.

Søagergaard will develop the farm’s production with equipment to produce more milk and expand into dairy products such as yogurt and cheese.

Meet Marianne & Andy

Marianne and Andy are the owners of Søagergård Regenerativt Jordbrug - a regenerative farm in Smørum, just outside Copenhagen. The farm has a mission to produce high-quality, nutrient-dense food and to inspire others through their actions.

Since 2020, they have been restoring the animal-plant-human symbiosis of the local ecosystem and building soil and biodiversity by working with animals and the animal’s natural behaviors.

About the project:
The project aims at improving the milking parlor set-up, to allow for less experienced new regenerative farmers to operate the system, as well as making milking more efficient. With a new mobile milking parlor, additional cows can be added while still allowing for the cows to continue to be milked in the field, so they won’t be separated from their calves.

Marianne and Andy will also develop a production site on the farm, with equipment to produce milk and dairy products such as yoghurt and cheese. With a dedicated space for production, the idea is to continue to sell their delicious produce to a broad community, and further spread the idea that tasty food comes from healthy soil and animal welfare.
